The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home using a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home earnings does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** nsfas status check Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants nsfas status are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as nsfas status reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
